i'm trying as hard as possible to write my dissertation with as few footnotes as i can. so far i have like 5 in my 2 chapters.

also, i'm trying to do 5 chapters in under 180 pages total.

you english types and your lack of proper citations...i think someone tried that in my department a few years ago. her excuse was she was french.
under 180 pages? wow. you'd save on the amount of magic paper you have to buy if you have to print out a final copy.

goddammit. does that mean if i ever finish mine i have to count shit too? what about appendices? do you have appendices? # of works cited entries? # of colons in your titles? without those, i'm not sure it's actually academic work...

they're there, the word count just doesn't count them. i was just curios about this stuff, like how much did i actually do, ya know? and this is of course without everything i cut out. ay yi yi yi!
