tonight I saw "Carmen" at the Opera Theater, second row and center. my god, it was wonderful. grand operas are fully as melodramatic as their televised counterparts, (hence "soap operas," heh) but while tv programs have only their players' faces to carry flimsy plotlines and twist after twist of fate, operas have the extraordinary music. the arias ( Read more... )

today, on the way down to the fruitery, i passed the most amazing flowering trees. the blossoms were a perfect purple-pink against a sky that had suddenly turned deep blue.

I wish that I could photosynthesize.
