You DO realize that most editors are conservative, not to mention the corporate owners of most media outlets are practically in bed with the GOP every night, right? These are the people who control what is deemed newsworthy and what isn't. It's quite idiotic to assume that all the journalists in the world would NOT report something newsworthy just to push their own political agenda, especially considering the fact that the ideals of journalism are founded on unbiased coverage and fairness. As a journalism major and senior reporter for my campus paper, I had to cover A LOT of things that were disgusting to me and remained unbiased. It's just how it works, it's a system that regulates itself and if a major slant occurs in anything that's not an editorial, the journalist comes under fire

I can't say the media is extremely biased towards liberal or conservative--it just depends on who pays more. Let's face it, in this country, left or right, money talks.

Incidentally, this never made it to mainstream 'liberal' media either, which is surprising given that it's a blatant hate crime.

I wouldn't go painting things with a broad brush--there are many things that don't get reported to the media, be it liberal or conservative.

Except that the main stream media is owned by large corporations, and large corporations are generally more sympathetic to the anti-taxation and anti-regulation policies of the right.

Just because a story doesn't make it big, doesn't mean there is a bias. Some stories just don't make it. Besides, did you check the date on the complaint? Its a month old. The media likes "breaking" stories.

Still, none of this excuses the behavior of the assaulter. What an ass.
