Jana and I had long talks about my feelings about birth/babies today. I investigated wedding rings online and poked around trying to find a local officiant that looks good. How do people choose these things? Went to the gym with Jana, then came home and did laundry. Made steak and veggie sandwiches for dinner and then went to coffee with Shauna ( Read more... )

There's not really many details right now, but the gist is that DSA's "next step" plan will be expanding to an international city and so someone from DSA (Ryan or Dean) would move to the city to manage the office. I was wrong about the cities when I was chatting with Jana and Shauna last night--it's Aberdeen (Scotland), Paris, Singapore or somewhere in China. They have a contract right now in Angola, but we don't have to go there (phew).

I was pressing Ry for more info last night, but he says that's all he knows.

Also, yeah, I have wondered about the dairy causing the bloat, but it's very periodic for me. Maybe more specifically cheese than dairy? I get an immediate upset stomach if I eat really rich chocolate (sad). We call it the PBP (peanut buster parfait) effect.

Moving to Paris?? For how long? That sounds exciting!

Bloaty tummy? Do you think it might be milk? I still get bloaty, but since I went casually lactose-free a few years ago, that department has been a LOT better.

PS - I'm really, really enjoying your daily updates :)

I am also so very much enjoying the daily updates!

Feelings talks are good. I hope it was good! And now I'm typing like an 8-year-old! Yes!

I'm so curious about this Paris thing.

Food allergies/intolerances are so hard to figure out, because if you try eliminating one thing, it could help a bit, but you might still feel sick if you are also sensitive to something else you'd never thought of (e.g. carrots?), or worse, several other things. So you might mistakenly say "well I took out dairy and I didn't feel better so dairy is fine" when dairy is contributing but just not the ooonly thing.

WHAT A FUCKING WOMP WOMP THAT WAS! Sorry.

But ya never know -- I think the vast majority of people are sensitive to dairy and don't know it, so that's usually where docs start in terms of elimination diets. Could be worth a shot. My allergy doc guy recommended 3 weeks without X food to get it out of your system before reintroducing to see if it's "the one". (And sadly, this is not "the one" in the sense of husbands and wedding dresses. This is a much fartier "the one". Well, depends on the husband, maybe.)
