wow...

besides a six week maternity leave (at 1/2 pay as it is considered disability) we have the newish law that a father can't be fired for taking some unpaid leave when a baby is born or child adopted. Now, too, we can't be fired for taking unpaid leave for a family medical emergancy.

That's about it, though. Families are not a high priority for our govt. in the US.

Oh, wow. I had to work up till the day I delivered because I was given 6 weeks off TOTAL. And that sucked because I could hardly walk in my last trimester.

Norway is starting to look mighty appealing.
