Snakes!

I saw the loveliest snake on Sunday. It was resting on a stone by the edge of the stream, and for I moment I didn't realize what it was. But then it moved, and looked right at me, and tasted the air to see what I was, and I suppose you could say we stared at each for a moment. We weren't far apart at all ( Read more... )

Really? Oh, that must be interesting. They lead such quiet lives, you know. They're very shy creatures.

Oh. Yeah. Most of them just want to go about their own business and keep out of your way, you know? I've had some.. er.. trouble.. with some but most are OK.

*nods* They don't like being cornered - the first thing they try to do is hide.

But I suppose like any other creature, even humans, they can go off balance, and do mad things that most wouldn't normally. I'm sorry you've had trouble with those.

Oh, it is! I think that that is what I like. Yes.

It makes me feel very grown up and wide awake and, well, quiet. A nice kind of quiet.
