Anywhere is walking distance, if you've got the time.

I'm home and on sick leave, because I had quite the "exciting" morning yesterday. I was on my way to work, on the zebra crossing almost on the other side, when a car hit me and knocked me over. He claimed that he didn't see me, but I had green and I was on the zebra crossing and I'm not exactly small and I had an open umbrella with me, but well ( Read more... )

Holy crap. Thankfully you didn`t sustain worse injuries.

What a load of bs, though, of the driver to claim he didn`t see you. I can not think of a situation within the context you describe where that would be even possible. Not paying attention, dozing off, doing something else, fiddling with the radio/heating etc, sure, but not "wasn`t able to see". Sometimes a driver may be completely blinded by sunlight for a couple seconds but that means slowing down to a crawl until you can see again, jeez.

Hope you get better soon.

Well, it was still dark and it was raining, so the police said that the sight wasn't ideal, but still, I was on the zebra crossing and I had the green light. He should have payed attention and it's not like it's a crossing in the middle of no where, there's usually lots of traffic there. He should have expected pedestrians.

Thanks!

Ich hab keine Ahnung was die Polizei mit dem gemacht haben. Auf jeden Fall wird alles ans Gericht geschickt und die entscheiden dann wie's weiter geht.

Danke!

Poor you, that must have been such a bone-deep (psychological) shock. I was "floored" as well, but by "nothing" more than my spine giving in as I tried to get up. So many people get hit on crossings :/ I'm glad people were there to help and look after you, and hope the pain will go away soon.

I was quite shaky and "aufgelöst" right after it happened. Thanks!
