Did you know that the use of oral contraceptives in women who have aura-type migraines greatly increases the risk of stroke?

Just thought you might like to know-I had never heard that before.

I couldn't take them anyway-they mess with me too much. Yugg. But I know a lot of people really like them. There's the smoking thing too, though.

Sadly, I found this out when I was a teenager and snuck out to get the pill. I'd already had aura migraines, but during the five months I was on the pill, I had a migraine on the same day every month. When I told Planned Parenthood about my clockwork headaches, they took me off the pill and recommended that I find another birth control method, because of the risk.

Stupid hormones. I really hated condoms.

Yeah, condoms are not so good. Good for teenagers who aren't necessarily in LTRs though.

When I went on BCPs they never asked about my headache history...

They didn't ask me either.
I took BCPs for years before they started to aggravate my migraines.

I did know that, but many people do not.

It is one of the reasons why I cannot take hormones of any kind and even avoid them in meat.

Scary stuff!

There is so much scary stuff about the way we live now. Eep!
However, yay for modern medicine.
