(no subject)
someone wanted a dark icon tut.. this isnt too dark but i'll make a dark one later on. This is like most darkicon tuts out there lol.
Going from this:

made with psp8 but easily translatable to PS etc.
Start with your base image
Sharpen it. then soften out the parts of the skin using the blur tool.
Duplicate it 3 times.Set them to screen. Desaturate the top layer.
New layer. Fill it with #000040 and set it to exclusion.
New layer. fill it with this gradient
and set it to softlight.
New layer again. fill it with this gradient:
and set it to multipy at 54% opacity.
New layer. fill it with this gradient:
and set it to multiply at 84% opacity.
Next, go back to the base, duplicate it and desaturate it. Bring it to the top and set it to softlight.
New layer. fill it with this gradient:
and set it to softlight.
Then i added brushes. The colour i used was #1B001A.
And you're done!
All the gradients and brushes are made by people in my userinfo. i dont know them offhand.. sorry lol.
