Amber & Bray's Room: Amber/Bray

Jun 24, 2004 15:34

[continued from hereBray stirred irritably. It was obvious that Amber wasn't going to let this one go, and he really didn't feel like talking. More to the point, what could he say even if he did? He stood up and started picking up his clothes, roughly pulling them on as he found them. Looking back he could see Amber still sat on the bed, ( Read more... )

Amber felt a sinking sensation in her feeling that was a strong indication that something wasn't quite right. She couldn't help but feel that she had said or done something that would make Bray react in such a way, and as he was clearly being stubborn in not wanting to talk about whatever was wrong Amber felt that she could do nothing to help, and she most certainly did not like that feeling. As Bray roughly re-dressed himself Amber could not help but feel vulnerable in her nudity and pulled the blanket around herself tightly, not knowing what to say or do ( ... )

Bray could feel his anger building inside as Amber spoke - all he wanted was a little time to think, to order his thoughts a little, just enough to gain a little peace. It frustrated him that sometimes Amber seemed to know him so well, and other times she really didn't seem to understand him. As he listened to her words, he could hardly believe what she was saying.
"Do you think I went and got kidnapped on purpose? To prove a point, maybe?" He shook his head incredulously, then muttered, "You say it like it's all my fault."

This wasn't making any sense. From an outisder point of view it was clear that neither Amber nor Bray were really listening to each other, but from Amber's point of view she was furious that Bray could not understand what she felt was a valid point ( ... )

Somewhere in his mind, Amber's words were registering, and some of what she was saying actually made sense - but Bray's anger overrode his logic, as he replied defensively, "Who said anything about me disappearing? All I asked was for a little time to think, is that too much?" Bray stood up and started pacing restlessly. "Amber, look, I know it must've been hard for you, and you've done a great job of looking after little Bray, and the Mallrats. I'm sorry if you think I'm being difficult, but please, you've got to give me time to adjust."

Bray sat back down on the bed, resting his elbows on his knees. In a lower voice, he carried on. "It's just... I don't know," His attempt at explanation trailed off, his thoughts not forming into words. He looked up at Amber, who was getting dressed, and realised that it was entirely his fault that they were both riled up. It made him feel even worse.

Amber's smile broadened as she saw Bray reflected in the mirror. "Hey, I'll have you know that you're making accusations against one of the tribe leaders, and that's fighting talk." She said jokingly.

As Bray leant in to kiss her neck she gave a soft moan. There was something about the way that Bray kissed her that sent shivers down her spine. She leant her head to one side to allow Bray to have better access. "However, if you keep doing this kind of thing I may be willing to accept some of the blame." She said teasingly.

"Just some of it?" Bray challenged, one eyebrow raised. "Well, Miss Tribe Leader, you've met your match - I'll take 50% and nothing less!" Bray walked his fingers around Amber's waist, well aware that she'd most likely find it ticklish. A play fight was definitely preferable to real arguing, and Bray was glad of the opportunity to distract them both from their worries.

"Hey! No fair!" Amber called out, wriggling slightly due to Bray's tickling. "I'll acept 40% of the blame and that's my final offer." Amber said, trying to look serious, and trying desperately hard not to giggle. "Come on, it's not like I'm blaming you in a bad way at all." She said smirking.

Bray grinned at Amber's reaction, then regained his humoured cool composure. "So if the blame's so great, why don't you take it all for yourself?" he asked, removing one hand from her waist to flick one of her loosened hair knots playfully.
