Triboro Youth Theatre will present Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" on Aug. 5, 6 and 7. Fifty-five area high school students will be featured on stage, as well as 14 musicians in the pit orchestra and 10 members backstage. The show is sponsored in part by a grant from the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation.
All the popular songs from the animated classic, including "Be Our Guest," "Gaston," and the title tune, "Beauty and the Beast," will be staged, along with newer songs added to the stage production.

Sarah Mielbye, 18, of Attleboro stars as Belle, the beautiful and bookish heroine opposite Jake Robertson, 17, of Mansfield as the Beast. Mrs. Potts, the teapot will be played by Emily Greco, 18, along with Steven Conroy, 17, as Lumiere, the candlestick, both of Mansfield. David Siewers, 18, of North Attleboro will be the clock, Cogsworth, and Brittney Strickland, 18, of Millis will play the Wardrobe.

The show is directed by Vivian K. Humphrey and the music director is David Renoni. Choreography has been done in part by Robert Robinson Jr., formerly of Attleboro and a recent college graduate from Julliard. Other numbers are being staged by Mrs. Humphrey and Diana Puccio, 18, of Mansfield. The big dance between the Beast and Belle is being learned at the Paris Academy of Ballroom Dancing in Taunton. The elaborate costumes are being rented from The Costumer out of New York.
