I do hope that, in all of this, it is remembered that many of the people here come from places vastly different from the one you may be familiar with. Customs, clothing, history, people...

Sometimes protecting can be good, and sometimes pushing can be, too. It'd be preferable if people didn't fall into immaturities about this but, well...

Protecting is all fine and good when it doesn't involve keeping someone in the dark, smothering them, OR my personal favorite -- holding them back.

No, those are not in best interest, but they are also not protecting in the way that I see it.

You just have better standards when it comes to chilvary. The rest you really can't put faith in and it's irritating.
