I am a Montessori alum and former Montessori teacher, and I think it's a fantastic idea -- it would go over really well in the school where I used to teach. I don't know about pricing -- I would suggest you go in willing to negotiate -- and I would recommend making a course outline (i.e. week 1, casting on, week 2 knit, week 3 purl, you get the idea), and also maybe writing up a prospectus, with what benefits you think knitting will offer the kids. I know it is taught in Waldorf schools, so you might try googling that to see what they think the benefits are. Creativity and fine-motor coordination are some obvious ones. I would also use natural or at least natural blend fibers, because Montessori is all about natural, high quality materials. However, Wool-ease for instance is really easy to work with and fairly inexpensive!
