I bought Battle Royale today. Mike was right about the subtitles, but its not that terrible. My question is well, i have a few of them

1. that girl in the beginning of the movie was a winner of the previous battle royale. I'm not sure where you're coming from, but Shogo did technically win the battle royale. He also beat the program before the battle royale the little girl with the doll won.
2. my guess was that Kitano was so used to bad, rebellious all around mean children, that when he met a girl such as noriko he was astounded by her purity. Eg. When Nobu (shuya's friend) cuts him in the leg, Noriko picks up the knife and hides it behind her back. Kitano knew what had happened but saw how Noriko cared about her friends, unlike the other mean little boys and girls (numai's gang for exaple).

1) actually ( based on the book and manga) the girl drenched in blood with the doll was a battle royale winner from shuya's youth. he saw it on tv with yoshi when he was like 6.
