Dina came into the city today. We had lunch with Gaby. It was the first time we all hung out together or either of us with gaby since elementry school. Things felt exactly the same, with Gaby on the outside, Dina and I having a great time remembering our summer together. Except, instead of feeling the anger towards Gaby for not being "cool" like us

Wow...I never even thought about the social dynamics that presented themselves yesterday and how they were EXACTLY the same as back when we were eight. This is very true. Good observation...

I don't exactly feel bad about soiling her innocence, or the image of our innocence. If things went as you say they did, then she ought to have expected it. I mean, that's just how we were back then. With those crazy genes she didn't have, but I'm sure she knew that. In the end, everything now is the same as it was when we were eight...just more extremely defined. And actualised.
