I was watching a documentary on Superman yesterday. At the end, they summed it up by saying that Superman is the embodiment of the "American Dream." That he was an immigrant who came to the United States and made it....

But did he have any papers?

Wouldn't that make him an illegal immigrant?

And yeah I'm a geek!

The documentary is called "Look Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman." I have the DVD if you want to borrow it.

I think that did happen in the comic book once or twice. Superman was considered a terrorist and they wanted him to be deported from earth.

dood have you been reading the current storyline (Civil War) about how the government is calling out all superheroes to reveal themselves, and how it's all connected to issues of privacy/immigration/social justice/etc? apparently spiderman revealed himself to the media, while other superheroes are on the other side of the fence. it sounds pretty interesting and it makes me want to start buying comics again haha

Actually I HAVE been paying attention to "Civil War" storyline. It seems Spidey has a new costume designed by Iron Man...and of course it looks real stupid! And the resistance is led by none other than Capt. America, I thought that was an interesting choice....ok that's enough of the geek talk for today.
