Being a University grad and knowing people who are now currently teaching high school and elementary, I can say it is handy to have a major and or a minor in something that could apply to a subject you would be teaching. It isn't crucial but it would give you a leg up on someone who doesn't have one. For example if you were teaching english, to have a degree in english literature looks really good on a resume. Mind you this isn't as much of an issue when teaching kindergarten (although a fine arts degree would be an advantage there or for any age group) but if you ever want to move away from that agree group and teach an older grade it would still help to have something that is more practical as a focus of interest. Keep in mind you don't really need to worry about what you want to major in till your second year of school so you still have plenty of time.

yeah. i'll be doing all my studies in French, so i'll already have a "leg up" on other applicants.

but if i do decide not to teach kindergarten anymore, i'd move into the feild of psychology. starting as counsellor and working my way up, potentially, to a clinical psychologist. but that's years ahead lol

i'll probably just minor in english and bore myself to death.

"i'm not that out of shape. it's because my heart rate is always between 20 and 40 beats above average. so my heart's already working over-time so it takes a while for it to warm up to beating even faster."

The more out of shape you are, the more your heart beats/m.. lol!

Also, I didn't know you liked heavens to betsy. I thought I was the only one to know they ever existed.. I came across "the driving song" in grade 8 and that's always been my favourite.

i know when you're out of shape, your heart beats faster. but i mean that when i'm about to fall asleep, my heart rates at something around 100 when it should be at 60. it's due to medication and it's really not good for your body.

it got it fixed. thanks for your concern

Don't they have to be 2 teachable subject areas? I don't think you can take womens studies and have it count towards teaching.
