Ack!!! I've been stressing about clothes, too. Looking at clothes literally depresses me after the initial excitement. Then nothing looks good to me anymore. And it's horrible that I look at my closet and even feel that "there's nothing to wear". I don't want to be a hoarder anymore, and I can't tell you how bad it feels to want all these books, to have all these books, while wanting even more of them.
You're me!!! There are days where I look at my closet and I go, "I have nothing to wear!" when I have stacks and stacks of perfectly decent things in there. I make myself get over it though when I challenge myself how to make my outfits look a bit different -- so I try new combinations, do my hair differently, etc. I turn it into a creative challenge and I tell myself that if I feel boring or ugly, it's my doing and I have to power to correct that.
Ah, and books. It was horrible when I used to work near Fully Booked High Street! I'd go home every month with these ridiculous credit card bills because I couldn't resist all those books. I've been applying what I feel about clothes to books, too. I only get it if I really, really want it. If I know I'll still love it for years to come! Or I postpone buying it, then I mull over it and see if the pang eventually goes away.
It's different for everyone, but decluttering and minimalism CHANGED my life and changed how I saw myself. I hope you figure out what works for you!
i think the most stylish people are the ones who can use one item numerous times without other people noticing. or, if they do, it doesn't matter because it looks good anyway.
Same! Or they're so off-trend na -- all my jeans rest on my hips and tons of my shirts cannot but tucked in! I'm telling myself I should be smarter with what I buy and make they sure can be partnered with a ton of my clothes. Like this year I want to load up on high-waisted pants, crisp sleeveless shirts/blouses (my tank tops are so sloppy and hole-y already), more blouses, and thigh-length shorts.
Then we can proceed to investing in "forever" shoes, belts, and bags -- puro leather na!
