Holding hands with Cloe in the park had been peaceful and relaxing, until she brought up that she had found a zapper. He couldn't let Salene handle that thing! She dosen't know how to use them- one misplaced finger and somebody could end up blasted. "Listen, Cloe, maybe I oughtta handle the whole thing with the zapper- I mean, Salene's great and all, but, I just don't want anybody to get hurt, yeah? I know you wouldn't want that either.I just want you to be safe." Whew. He let out a sigh after he finished his sentence. Hopefully Cloe would agree with him, and nobody would stun themselves with the zapper. He hoped there wouldn't be any more talk of technos and chaos. When she mentioned who was going to pay for their bill at the casino, he realized he hadn't thought of it before. He shrugged it off, and smiled when he felt her squeeze his hand. It reminded him of when he was a little boy and his mother had held his hand on the way to the park, and squeezed his hand 3 times, meaning 'I love you'... He gave his smile of approval and

Maybe Ved did have a point about the whole Zapper thing. What if Salene misused it by accident? She'd never forgive herself. "I understand, but we should still let her know. She is the city leader and tribe leader. It would be like lying if we didn't say anything." She smiled as he kissed her and then she felt him squeeze her hand. 1...2...3....I love you. She looked up at him and squeezed back 4 times. 1...2....3...4...I love you too.

They reached the casino and Cloe smiled. The last time she had been there was with Ved. But now they were together again, so the past didn't matter. "Did he say when he'd be here?" She was worried if anyone would recognize Ram. Then all Hell would break loose.

"Sure babe, I don't see any trouble in letting her KNOW about it- just don't let her TOUCH it." He said, hoping that that last part didn't come out sounding mean- all he wanted was for the mallrats to be safe, even if it did mean he'd have to act a little rough when they were playing with fire. Ved's eyes lit up with happiness and he beamed his way when Cloe sent back 4 squeezes- the ones that meant she loves him back. She had known what it meant. Maybe such tradition won't be left behind after the virus- maybe they really could keep the dream alive, or at least theirs.
When they arrived at the casino, they took their spot next to eachother at the counter, on the stools, where they had first met. Ved hoped Cloe wouldn't remember the awful way he had treated her that day- he was ashamed of how immature he had been back then.
"Well- we didn't set an exact time to meet here doll, he just said around dinner time. But we can have fun ourselves until he gets here, yeah?" He looked in her eyes, but she looked a bit preoccupied by

CLoe was very content to be with Ved. He seemed to be enjoying himself to. But for some reason, she wasn't as happy as she could have been. Maybe it was the thought of Ram still being around the city. Maybe it was being nervous about all the kids fighting. Or Maybe it was the memories that came rushing back like a giant wave of when Ved and Cloe sat in the exact same spot. Where they met. Where she hated Ved, but secretly liked him. She looked away for a moment, spotting where Ved had sat when she had put him in a nappy and left her teddy bear with him. The memories...some good...some bad...She snapped back as Ved brushed her hair back. "Oh, well, he''ll show up soon. No rush." Ved could see behind the facade of happiness. He ould see she was a bit nervous. She shook her head and stared at the counter. SHe looked up and then caught the waiter. "I'll have a witch of salem." He nodded and Cloe looked back to Ved. "JUst...out of it a bit. Ved, I know you and Ram are friends but still...it's Ram. It's because of him that I was sent away

Cloe was Happy that Ved had accepted her promise of making it up later on. He knew what she was saying. She better apologize to Ram..or Gabe. "Listen....Gabe...I uh..." She paused and laughed. The alcohol was starting to set in. "I'm sorry....it's just,...well....the past. I'll try to put it behind me..." She burped and giggled. She finished off her drink and singaled for another. The bartender gave her a weird look, but filled her drink. She thanked him and Cloe took some more snacks from the bowl on the bar and threw one at Ved. "So, Gabe, how's....you know?" She didn't want to say her name, she was pretty much still wanted too. "Did you find her?"

Ved nodded at Rams' explination, ignoring how Ram in anyway thinks hes "better" at being touched. He smirked when Ram said he was called Gabe here- it dosen't seem like a name Ram would choose. He shrugged it off, and listen to Cloe stumble over her words.
Ved fanned off the liquory smell of Cloes breath when she belched, and gave a light laugh with her. It's always funny to see people drunk.He ducked when Cloe threw some food at her. Woah, she's getting really tipsy now. He might have to take her home soon...

Ram laughed lightly. Cloe was much more pleasant drunk, in his opinion. "It's alright, I understand." He said, glossing over her appology, still toying with the shot glass. He was foolish not to think some virt who knew who he was wouldn't yell at him for what he did. Weeks of solitude made him forget that yes, there were actualy people out in the city still.
He looked over at Cloe and smiled. "She's fine. I found her sleeping in my bed when I got home." He wasn't sure whether or not he should give her the word to pass it on or not. He didn't want her or Ved getting in trouble for seeing him.
Ram thought back to Java, oncemore he felt guilty for leaving her there by herself.

Cloe smiled and nodded. "Well, that's good to hear." She hiccuped. "Scuse me." She giggled. She ate more of the peanuts on the counter and took another small sip of her drink. "So, that must make you happy." She smiled and rested her head on ved's shoulder. "I'd go crazy if I lost my Ved." She kissed his cheek and Whispered "I love you." In his ear, and then squeezed his hand 3 times. One...two..three.. She gave him a loving smile and waved the waiter over. He asked if she wanted another, but she shook her head. "Water, please. I think I need a break from the Liquor."
