We've had the whole Paul and Heather thing going on in the tabloids for the passed two weeks non stop. Every day i've picked a paper up there was someone saying something about the breakup.
I think people should leave him alone, but at the end of the day part of Paul's job is to be in the papers just like any other celebrity/musician/actor/model, anyone who is in the lime-light and does something that will sell papers then it's guaranteed that it shall be in the press.
It's sad really that people's lives are so empty that they have to take pleasure and interest in the break down of a couples marriage, and a break up of a family. Personally people are disgusting in the way they are commenting and reflecting on it.
At the end of the day marriages break up, but you find that anyone is selling their stories to the papers. John Smith, who met paul mccartney briefly in a sauna, relfected that paul told him the marriage would never work. It's pathetic stupid and people should get a life rather than make money on one family's misfortune.
AMEN!!! Ugh it's completely aggravating... Oh and all the fans are no better... Calling Heather names... I had to defriend a few people over it.. The media, in general, needs to grow up. They cop out and say, "well it's what the people want" but if they stopped reporting this smut and reported something worthwhile maybe people would actually start thinking about more important things. Yes, it's fine to be a fan, to read about someone you love... But we don't need every detail... We don't need to put down these people because they make a mistake because they are human just like the rest of us... It's sickening.
I know what you mean- the name calling is childish. And I understand that the media has the right to write about what they want, but if we started reporting the important stuff rather than this silly, hypocritical bullshit- maybe half of the world would care a hell of a lot more about so much more.
I'm sick of hearing about it too. I mean, as much as I give him flack for just being Paul, I love Paul because he's Paul. It's really unnecessary for these people to say those things about him, and I just hope everything works out for him. At the end of the day, Paul is Paul Motherfucking McCartney, and he's an effing Beatle, in case you've forgotten, Nameless "journalists". Get to bowing!
*Paul enters room, prepared for a meeting with the media*
First Journalist: Could you state, for this room and the rest of the world, who you are, exactly?
Paul: I'm Paul Motherfucking McCartney, an effing BEATLE, in case you've forgotten.
*silence*
Paul: Now, get to bowing!
You are fantastic. That entire comment had me laughing like nothing else. But it's true, I love Paul because he's Paul, and last time I checked said journalist did not belong to one of the most influential rock bands of all time, go down in anyone's History book, or ring in at a price of over a billion dollars. So there. I also hope everything works out, Paul's a good man.
Like everyone I'm sick of hearing about it. I think they just need to leave Paul alone and let him deal with things, and why bring up stupid stuff like what's in that article? I mean, sure, he isn't John but as mean as this may be, would they be praising John as much as they are now if he were still alive? I don't think so. Or, if they were, they'd be giving him as much crap as Paul. And as for the whole suing his friends just to break from Apple I love how they don't mention that Allen Klien(er however you spell that guys name) screwed the other three over later on and had to sue him and how in the end Paul made a smart decision. Or even the fact that he was so depressed about doing it jeez. I mean GAH.. Okay I'm done.
Man, that irked me too. And this “What has he done recently- other than show up at every feel good benefit in the book...?” Erm, anyone recall Live 8? No More Land Mines? PeTA? Guess not. Ah, but who cares- people trying to save the world are useless. *facepalm*
Oh, just like my rant on my eljay about my yearbook crediting John to "Let It Be" and saying how it was remembering the legend, etc. For my friends who aren't Beatle fans they don't understand why it pissed me off so much. But THIS IS WHY. Paul NEVER gets the credit he deserves because John died and it bugs me that even the yearbook people didn't put "The Beatles" which would have been understandable but nooo they put that the song was written by John. GAH!
I SAW THAT! People are mad, eh? They don't even bother to research it or anything, they just sort of assume. And you know what happens when you assume. And yeah, though I don't totally credit John's fame with his death- he is one of the more 'recognized' Beatles because of it. I don't blame his death though, because that's a little, erm, ironic, I guess. But you should totally call someone out for that. So wrong.
Thank you for giving a well-argued rant against the lame media. I hate how Paul cannot possibly be described without being compared to John. EVER. These reporters are lame, and they've been particularly sucky lately as this separation business is going on. I just hope that everything works out for the best and that Paul can go on to live a happy life, which is what I think he deserves.
Though I'm not sure how well-argued I was, thank-you, lovely. I'm the same way- I hate the fact that they compare the two men to eachother at every turn. Last time I checked they were two entirely different people, and I'm almost positive that without Paul, John would have not been the same John Lennon we know and love today- did the silly reporter's ever think about that? They never, however, say, "He's just John Lennon, but...Paul, oh, Paul was amazing." Neither or them would be the same without the other, that's what happens in your life- you are changed by other people. But that does not make you anything less, and I hate that Paul is seen as inferior.
