Veronica Mars, series finale; my thoughts.

1. I loved both episodes. They were so...I don't know. Like, they were really just so up there with what television aspires to be. It's a shame that Season 3 was so lacklustre compared to the other two, but WOW at tonight's finale. WOWOWOW. It was seriously so powerful. I still can't quite wrap my mind around it yet.

2. The ending. I was lurking on the television without pity forum and a lot of people are pissed because Piz and Veronica are still (nauseous and) together. The thing is, is that it's so obviously that it's all LoVe. It's just so fucking obvious that in the end, it will always be Logan and Veronica. So it's okay that Piz and Veronica are technically physically seeing each other, because they'd basically be done for if the show went on. Parker saw it. Piz definitely noticed Veronica's little smile when Logan was beating up Gorry/Gorya/that guy. Apparently, the final scene with LoVe had been spoiled as being GLORIOUS. I am sorry, but yes, that was glorious. It was just was.

3. I LOVE how the show ended full circle. I think that Rob Thomas did intend this episode to serve as a series finale and as a season finale; it works so well both ways. It leaves viewers hanging but it resonates closure too. We can essentially dream up our own endings.

4. Keith obviously would have lost the election if there were a Season 4, but again, it's okay. Being Sheriff is his dream job, I suppose, but he is just such a PI. I don't think that he'd be able to really truly go back to being Sheriff after the three years he spent as a private investigator. I think he just belongs at Mars Investigations. It really made me sad, but in a weird good way, that Keith is, again, taking the fall for Veronica's actions. It's incredibly affecting; the family they've built with each other. I love love love Keith.

5. "Rob Thomas is a WHORE." - LOLLLL.

6. The paintings of Lilly and Duncan were so very creepy. Loved them. Especially Lilly's - it was SO striking. It was incredible to see, partly because it was a beautiful picture and also partly because it was so startling.

7. Weevil keeping the third ID machine - HEEEEEE. Oh man.

8. Wallace. ♥ I am one of those sad people who get all "FRIENDSHIP-FOREVA" sappy so yes. I melted in some parts. One thing that Season 3 seemed to severely lack was real best-friend interaction between Wallace and Veronica. I missed the way they'd watch each other's backs so much.

9. And speaking of Wallace, the scene in that room when Wallace was wearing the collar was so frightening. It was amazing. It reminded me of one of the Season 2 episodes when Thumper and someone else were playing Russian Roulette with Logan's hand; both scenes were so eerie. And this one presented such a powerful dilemma, too, because it's not you on the line, it's somebody else.

10. The final scene with Veronica walking in the rain without an umbrella after voting was just so...it. I cannot think of a better way to end the show, because this scene completely epitomized the idea that Veronica goes on, that life goes on for her and the people around her no matter the circumstances, and that she'll just keep walking, even in the rain, until she dies. And that's the show I love.

So. An amazing show, done. Only for now, hopefully. HOPEFULLY. Oh lord. I don't know. I cannot even describe my overall love for Veronica Mars. To me, Veronica Mars changed my entire perspective on what I expect from television. I had never before watched a show that was so intricate, so developed, so funny, so heartbreaking all at once. It sounds kind of stupid, but it really does make my heart swell; that's what it feels like. It's not even like, "EEEE, I AM SOOO OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW!"; it's just feeling so incredibly attached to something wonderful. So it makes me so sad that it's over.
