In which Germans out-stupid themselves.
On September 1st, a German woman started out her day by attempting to rid her garage of spiders. Opting for a less hands-on method, she got a can of hairspray to kill them. That didn't work, and herein lies her mistake: instead of going for the flyswatter, she naturally decided to try and burn them to death with a lighter.
And to her surprise, this ended in her entire home being burned to the ground.
But. In the words of a bemused police spokesperson:
“The spiders are gone though -- that problem was solved.”
