"Yes." He stood and walked to the window and stared transfixed at the barely visible countryside.

"I'd love to say yes, since I had you in my arms but the truth is I don't sleep much these days. It's an old habit." He returned to the bedside and pulled on his undershirt, although his tunic was still on the floor. "Did you?"
