That is disgusting. He has to know it reeks so why bring a girl home to that?

Anyway, I completely agree with you about everything, except add dogs to my list.

My mom has a ton of cats and her place stinks. After a while, you get used to it so she doesn't even realize how it smells. This guy is probably the same way.

Do you tell your mom it smells bad? You should whip your mom away for a few days then return her back home and see if she can smell it...

I tell her all the time. At one point, I even tried the tough love thing with her and told her that SHE stunk because of it. Nothing changes. The cat stuff is the biggest reason why my mom doesn't get to see Aidan.

The smell of cat piss gets to me too. I haven't visited her in probably a year or two because the smell is so overpowering.

Cats are clean, it's their 'owners' who let things go; don't spay/neuter or clean up...

But then dogs are [almost] a deal-breaker with me so whatever.

At least you've had dates! ;P

I have 2 cats...and my home doesn't reek of piss.

A cat can't help it if their owner doesn't care for them properly. If you scoop the litter daily and change it weekly, the likelyhood of a cat spraying decreases tenfold. Cats DO NOT like a dirty box. And...male cats spray to mark territory. I do not think I would have even stayed in an apartment that reeks of cat piss...but I might have sought out the cat to free it from it's torture. ;P

Seriously, there's no reason any GOOD pet owner's home should have the dominating smell of their pet. (I can counter the cat piss argument with my mom's home always smelling like dog shit...it's really NOT the pet's fault, it's just nasty owners.)

And how an owner takes care of their pets / place says a lot about the person.

And the state and smell of his place said it all for me.
