After spending a significant amount of time this weekend being owned by assignment work I've realised that I have a great weakness. I think practise could certainly improve writing skill. Plus you might be surprised by others opinions of your writing skill. I occasionally get comments from people I barely know saying how much they enjoy my writing (in lj) and that surprises me since I think I'm a pretty average writer and don't often put much thought into what I say. Over the past few years I've watched Anth develop into a very amusing and witty writer and it's something he's been consciously working on, I think.

Thanks, I can tell you for sure that numeracy is just a matter of practice. Writing has a much more creative edge to it and there rarely a right or wrong. As for your writing, I'd agree with your the compliments. Your writing always seems to flow effectively and is easy and pleasant to read.

Why thank you:) But I'm not so sure about practice improving my ability to recall numbers (I'm fine with calculations) as I do maths nearly every day and my issues seem to be getting no better or worse. I need compensatory techniques, really, but it's difficult when someone reading a number to me can get switched around in my head in the time it takes to find a pencil:).
