Celebrimbor turned the metal bar just as his father had shown him. He hung on, brow wrinkled in determination, though each blow of the hammer reverberated in his head. Slowly, the metal formed a sword-like shape under his father’s efforts.
He glanced up to see his father’s face touched with gold in the firelight. Curufin smiled at him, and the love--the joy he felt in that moment--shone out clearly. Celebrimbor’s face relaxed, meeting his father’s smile with his own.
"Who is this sword for, adar?"
A shadow crossed Curufin’s face. He said quietly, "Perhaps it will be yours."
