I suppose it depends on what kind of dancing you want to do - do you dance solo, or do you want to reign in a dance-floor partner?

If solo - maybe hip hop or breakdancing.
For partner maybe Salsa?

As the above comment says, it depends whether you want to dance solo or with a partner. Hip hop or street jazz/street dance would suit you, I'd guess. Maybe some latin classes to add an extra twist...

I'd say my dance time would be a 70/30 mix, dancing solo / having a partner.

I'll look into all the styles you've mentioned. Hip-hop, street dance, and salsa sound particularly interesting.

Someone from another forum (dance.net) said that ballet might be good as well. She said that it was a foundation for nearly all other styles, and that experience may boost strength and technical ability. If that's true, I wonder whether starting there would bolster skills learned later.

Thanks for your replies - I appreciate them ^^;
