I wasn't doing anything, just sitting on my bed brushing my hair. I glance down at my thermal pjs and decide they're fine for me to be seen in; they pretty much cover me from my head to my ankles. I go to the window and open it.

"Hey, Jor. Uh, you wanna come in?" I say.

[_dawnie_]

I sit back down on the bed and cross my legs Indian-style. "I was thinking about getting online but I'm not really in the mood. I should go to bed, but you know... not tired." I shrug.

"Are you, like, out for a walk or something?"

"Really? I'd so love it if you could get that part instead of Eric. He's completely lame, ugh." I pause.

"Jan? Nah, I talked to her a few minutes at school but she didn't say anything about you. What'd you do to her?"

[_dawnie_]

He sounds confused. I'm confused listening to all that. "Weird and cranky, huh? Well, it could be PMS, or it could be that she missed you being around. Kinda hard to say." I wink at him. "It's a secret thing girls practice... keeping guys off-balance. There's a secret handshake and everything."

I snicker. "He bugs everyone, except for those people who think he's, like, hot. I don't. He's too full of himself for that."

I watch Jordy; he seems really bugged about this.

"It's cool," I say, glancing at him thoughtfully. If I didn't know better, I'd wonder if he liked J or something. Maybe he's just being all protective, which is very cute.

"J usually has decent taste in guys-- the vamp thing was a brief moment of insanity," I offer. "If he's as lame as we think he is, she'll realize it for herself. I'm sure she will."
