Taecyeon sat his desk, glaring at the stack of papers that he needed to resort. He started slamming them down into the “in” and “out” baskets he kept on the left corner of the desk, knowing the stack would only grow the longer he waited. He was so absorbed in what he was doing, he didn’t notice Jaebum walking up. Jae tapped on the desk, catching Taecyeon’s attention.
“Yah, Earth to Taec. What you lookin’ so pissed off for, bro? Still mad that dork Onew jacked you up? I’d be pretty upset about that, too.”
Taecyeon’s only answer was a glare.
“He kicked your ass and broke your glasses too. Shit, sucks to be you man…”
“Those were my favorite.” Taecyeon said bitterly, frowning.
“Yeah, they looked good on you and everything.” Jae said, clearly aware he was adding insult to injury.
Taecyeon slammed another form into the “out” basket, with a growl.
“Next time he comes in here, I’m gonna rip out his spine and beat him with it.” Taecyeon stated matter of factly.
“That’s the spirit!” Jae remarked, as he absentmindedly played with the odds and ends on Taec’s desk, knocking over quite a few. “Oh….My bad.” He said, not even bothering to fix them.
“Fuck, Jae. Quit touching shit. Don’t you have something to do?” Taecyeon growled, swatting Jaebum’s hand away.
“No, I finished all my work for today and I’m bored. I’m thinkin’ you’re forgetting who helped your unconscious ass. Next time I’ll leave you there.”
Taecyeon ignored him.
“I don’t know what you’re so butthurt over, didn’t you send babygirl out to get you a new pair of glasses?” Jae asked.
“Yeah.”
“Then quit acting like a bitch. She’ll be back soon. Then you’ll have new glasses, and you can make her do your filing. I’ll even listen out for news on Onew for you so you can make up for gettin’ your ass stomped. Can’t have word gettin’ around that I hang out with someone who got whooped by Onew.” Jae said, with a smirk.
Taecyeon considered Jae’s words. He had a point, any minute now he’d have new glasses, and someone to do his work for him.
Even better than that, next time Onew showed up, he’d be ready. Maybe things weren’t so bad afterall.
