Dax:In the City

Dax left the Cage Room quickly, feeling his head clearing as he walked away, the farther he got, the better he felt. His guilt was eating through him, and the only thing he could think of right now was getting out, getting away from it for a while. He was just to the gate when someone popped in through the doors and came up towards the gate, "Can I ( Read more... )

Dax made his way first down Cable, the street the Mall faced, then turned onto Tory which would take him all the way through Sector 14 to Sector 7 to the Public Works drop off. It was a quick walk, his long legs carried him there faster, and when he arrived he caught a kid just about to take off, tossing his bag of trash into the cart attached to the back of his bicycle. Dax handed him one of the pieces of jewelry he'd taken from the Chosen compound, making a deal with him to carry any trash Dax brought for the next 6 weeks in trade. He wandered back down Tory to Courtenay, past his old haunt, the Casino, stopping in to say hello to the Bartender, to shoot the breeze and thank him for the offer of his job back but politely declining. Dax shifted the things in his hands, he hadn't brought anything to put his wares in, he hadn't really expected to buy stuff at the market, but he hadn't been able to pass up the deal he'd made. He'd stuck the makeup in his pants pockets, even in a world such as this where guys wore tribal markings it still wasn't cool to be seen walking around with eyeliner. He carried May's present in one hand, and a few odds and ends he'd traded to even out the deal in the other, one of them a board game he'd picked up, hopefully he could sit down and play a game with Mouse at some point. She was so adorable, he was still wrapped around her little finger, he'd do anything Mouse asked probably, if it was safe, he owed her so much after everything. Dax found himself outside of the Mall pretty quickly, it was a short walk from the Market really, and he carefully maneuvered inside as he tried not to drop his stuff all over the place.
