How did you meet? At a party. I noticed him glancing at me, so I went over and talked to him. We hit it off, had a great convo, and ended up kissing on the balcony. We exchanged phone #'s and started seeing each other. After a couple weeks of dating and getting to know each other, we became an official couple.
How do you know you're deeply in love? When I think about the future, he's an integral part of it. I've never been the romantic kind of girl who really wanted a boyfriend. I was the girl who wanted to have fun with her friends and kiss a different guy everyday. Since I met Shawn, I can't even imagine being with someone else. He's my perfect guy and I feel so lucky to have him.
Tell us a funny story about the two of you: One December night, we thought it'd be really romantic to make love under the Christmas tree. So we did. But my slick boyfriend forgot to pick up the condom wrapper. Well, on Christmas eve, my mom was putting presents under the tree and guess what she found!
Have you two had any obstacles that you've had to overcome so far in your relationship? If so, what were they, and how did you overcome them? Nothing too major. Me going off to college was probably the biggest. During my freshman year, I lived in a dorm. He got an apartment nearby, but I think he was a little worried that I would still forget about him. Obviously, I didn't and no matter how fine a guy was, I never strayed.
If you're not already married, do you see marriage in the future with this person? Definitely, we've already discussed it.
Would you marry them right now? If we had the money, yes.
What are some things you do to make each other feel special? It's the little things that go along way like leaving each other love notes and exchanging back rubs. He's definitely the more romantic of us two. He surprises me with bubble baths, cooks for me, and brings me flowers.
Tell us a romantic story: Valentine's Day 2004 was perfect. We were in NY at that time and it was snowing like crazy. He picked me up and gave me flowers & the sweetest card. We went to a cozy Italian restaurant and had a lovely dinner. Afterwards, we went back to his apartment. There were tons of balloons everywhere. He told me to pop them and inside each was a small piece of paper that had a reason why he loved me. In the living room was a stuffed bunny (he knows I love rabbits!) holding a chocolate rose. He told me to sit down and then he mock-proposed to me with a 14k gold toe ring. It was really sweet. Then, we watched love movies all night and cuddled.
Has your s/o ever made you cry or mistreated you in any way? No, he's definitely never mistreated me. I've cried during our arguments, but looking back, I was just being dramatic.
Have you met each others families? Do you all get along? Yes, but his family doesn't live very close. Usually, we spend holidays and stuff with my family. He's really tight with my mom. They have little pet names for each other (he calls her "mumzy" and she calls him "Shawnzy").
Have you or your s/o ever been unfaithful to one another? No way.
Question of your choice! Tell us something we haven't asked about, but is something you want to share! We love taking road trips together. Whenever we have enough money saved up, we take off on a trip. We've been to every state in the eastern US. We both dig History, so we stop at Historical sites and museums. But my favorite part is the trip itself. We blast 80's rock, sing, talk, goof-off, hold hands, sneak kisses on the highway, and eat junk food all day. It's a perfect mix of fun and romance. Another little tidbit - we own a pet rabbit and consider her our "daughter". She's really spoiled and we have a blast with her.
