Well well, look at this. I mean, the convention hasn't even started, and already I've got a problem with it. This reason is why I personally won't be going. They won't allow anyone under the age of 18 into the convention. For me, this is fine, but I think its somewhat of an oversight to disallow those who are younger into an event, and their reason ( Read more... )

Blame it on insurance companies charging an arm and a leg because they can. =:P As annoying as it must be, I can understand the difficulty of their position though. If the FAQs are to be believed, they didn't manage to run the operation at a profit last year, so I think have had to make some regrettable sacrifices (avoiding expensive extra insurance, raising prices etc) in order to ensure it covers costs better this year or it'd kill it off completely for everyone.

Sadly I'm pretty sure the con staff have set themselves up for some bigger problems yet to come, but that's not for a public LJ. I really hope I'm wrong as more events in the UK is always a good thing!

typical really, in just a short few days ive had to put up with finally seeing stormbreaker (shite), the HUGE dissapointment that red dwarf: back to earth turned out to be and this: ive got to say this is the largest rage ive ever been in and you know me, i dont tend to get annoyed at much XC
