Many years ago, this day was the only day, besides christmas-day, when boats were required, by law, to be in land. Now, with the unions and and contracts and such, seamen get much more free time, but we Icelanders tend to stick to our traditions. We would never give up a good reason to get drunk, dance & socialize...

It was nice meeting you at last.
To bad I can hardly remember :(
