by snarkel, this is a crossover between two of my favourite childhood obsessions, Star Wars and The Princess Bride. For the uninitiated, the quote is from the latter, with Vader and Fett replacing Buttercup and Wesley, and the funny comes from both Fett and Wesley using the phrase "As you wish", although obviously not in the same context. I know that me explaining it doesn't make it sound funny, but I laughed for about an hour when I first saw it. It's one of those things that seems such an obvious joke once it's pointed out to you, but it took a comedy genius like snarkel to find the link and make it. I've had it for almost as long as I've had this journal, yet I still find it funny and I'll never delete it!

Lovely and beautiful supersoldier Eric Close is about to be attacked by evil bugs and is asking smashing and awesome scientist Dennis Haysbert what kind of bugs he can expect - crawling, flying, hopping? I just thought it was a cute moment and would make a lolzy icon!

Right after the 2004 Phantom of the Opera movie of the musical came out, there was an explosion in the fandom with people drooling over the Phantom's hot sexiness. It wasn't their fault, ALW went mental and hired for the role of a disfigured musical genius...a good-looking musical dunce. Anyway, oceans of badfic appeared, 9 out of 10 of which had the Phantom and Christine getting married and living happily ever after, with no mention at all of stalking, extortion or murder to get in the way of Erik the Beautiful Romantic Hero. At the same time we were also being eye-raped by treated to cheesy romance-novel-cover manips, such as this image of epic fail beauty :
So what was a bitchy, sarcastic Gaston Leroux and Lon Chaney fan like me to do but to constantly point, laugh and make badly photoshopped manips of Lon Chaney and Mary Philbin, such as in this icon, to highlight the silliness of the idea of a Sexayyyy Fantom?!!1! Ah, good times, good times!

by me. Was experimenting with animated icons, and who better to practice on than Michael Biehn as Cpl Hicks in Aliens and OMG THAT LOOK?!! If you find people of the male persuasion attractive and yet remain calm and restrained whilst viewing this, congratulations, you are made of sterner stuff than I am! I used this icon for a comment on sara_merry99's journal and she replied that she'd been trying to convince a friend of MB's hotness, had shown said friend this icon and she was thereby convinced! To me, no matter what he's done since, MB created a Holy Trinity of Hot - Kyle Reese, Dwayne Hicks and Chris Larabee - and I will always have a place in my wee fangirl heart for him.
