I finished block 1 of nursing school yesterday, and have a little under a month until I start block 2. I've been enjoying nursing school so far, and I've been learning a lot about how to think like a nurse, and lots of different stuff - injections, nursing assessments, common meds, oral/enteral med administration, catheter insertions & d/c, wound ( Read more... )

Britt, a miscarriage is harsh. My condolences. :( To Curtis, as well.

I've heard 'Up' is good! I will see it eventually; I just can't take the movie theater anymore. Too many punks and clowns!

So what exact certification does your schooling provide? My mom's looking into becoming something about a rehabilitative nursing assistant and I am curious about the differences.

Thanks so much!

I'll end up with an ADN (registered nurse) diploma at the end of next year (hopefully), but I'm thinking about getting my LPN license halfway through, I'll have to take a bridge course during my other classes though, and I'm not sure how that will go.

How is your mom liking her job? Did she say anything about what schools she was looking into that offer the course to go from certified nurse assistant to RNA? There was an RNA that worked at the place I did clinicals at for my CNA, she was wonderful and she seemed to really help the patients with their keeping their independence with their activities of daily living and at maintaining their level of function. It would be great if she wanted to do it, keep me posted! How is your mom, btw? How's your sis too?

I'm so sorry about the miscarriage. It's really awful and devastating. Like any grief, only time will relieve your distress and even still you'll catch yourself thinking about it. Take care and God bless you.

I'm so glad nursing school is going well and that it's engaging. E's best friend's mom is a nurse in the cardiac ICU here at Hartford Hospital. She went to nursing school as a second career after she had kids.
