As I have managed to maintain a quiet observer’s stand point for some time-not having posted, but managing to read everyone else’s info-since well before Christmas, I suppose it is time to divulge
Christmas
We had a lovely Christmas with both of our families. Our usual rotating Christmas (3 houses in 2 days) was fun, and allowed me to spend ample time with my beautiful nieces. We played many games, ate delicious food, and had many laughs. Typically, we both feel drained after Christmas, but this time we managed to get some much needed R&R.
After Christmas, (the 26th) I spent all day looking at cars with my dad. I can now attest to the fact that people will try to sell anything. I drove a car that smoked, one that smelled like it was on fire, and one that had such a tragic engine problem, that we didn’t even make it out of the lot. After all of those, I began to feel a bit hopeless that the great car search would land me nowhere.
Upon returning to Madison, I received word that the lovely
donnahayward and
angelstoil had become engaged. Such wonderful news to end Christmas with! Congrats again to you both!
Then Sunday, we met up with the family for some catching up, and fun.
This past week…
While having the week off led me to believe that I could finally complete so many of the projects that have been looming, I found that I accomplished no where near what I had hoped. I began Monday with
stevied looking at cars and sipping coffee. Though we could not find much within my price range he spent nearly the entire morning helping me look at cars, and helping me with advice and ideas. All which was much appreciated! Eventually, I found my car, and will soon be the proud owner of a ’93 Mazda Protégé. w00t!
And of course, New Year’s
After stopping and visiting Miss
bleaknimue and collecting a little moola for my wares, I headed home, napped briefly and Scott and I headed to a friends soiree to begin our evening. Then regrouped and met up with everyone at zee cl0b. Though we retired early, it was wonderful to ring in the New Year with so many people that we love.
We came home, drank a bottle of champagne, and I was trounced at Monopoly.
As I sit here in my semi-reflective state, I have thought about 2003 and all that it encompassed. It was a year of new relationships, new experiences, many laughs, and even some tears.
January through April were pretty standard-issue months. My world was stable. Scott and I were living in a nice apartment, he went to school, and I went to work. Not much of mention in my personal world, though much was going on around me.
In May, Scott graduated, broke it off with me, moved out, and for the first time in four years I was rattled to my foundation. Through the support of my two best friends, I found my way back to normalcy, or as normal as things can get after such events. And of course, I must add my first visits to zee cl0b.
June brought surgery, and a long recovery, Scott reappeared, and we began the long road back to being “us”, and well, a whole new perspective on people, places, and things.
July and August brought about more time at zee cl0b, The Dane, a move to a new apartment, and of course my little love, Sophie.
pandora333,
donnahayward, and I became nearly inseparable.
In September, Scott and I made it official again.
pandora333,
donnahayward, and I remained attached at the hips.
October, Halloween! Two words--Anna Nicole. I also welcomed a new niece, Jenna Marie, and saw my other niece, Ashley, turn 3-they grow up so fast.
November, was made up of holiday madness, Scott moving back to Madison and living with me, game night, and oodles of birthday fun for my pals.
December, though not so distant, much of it seems like a long ago memory. This was the month that my car began to pass-on, the holidays took over, and time flew by at the speed of light.
Last night I celebrated my fifth New Year’s with the love of my life, and found a certain amount of rejuvenation in it. I was able to spend it with some of my most beloved family and friends.
Thank you to all of my wonderful friends and family. It would not have been nearly as great without all of you.
Happy New Year to you all! I look forward to 2004 and all that it holds.
