Ain't this fun? I always wanted to break into Wolfram and Hart through the sewers, with Lilah Morgan, my former partner in crime, in tow. Not to mention the walking attitude she had with her when she came to the Hyperion ( Read more... )

Oh hail the gang's all here. Can I just say how much fun we all are having? And after this maybe we'll be lucky and have a bon fire and sing KumbaYa as I slowly slit my throat.

Do they think I am happy to be working with them?

Although the thought that Skippy the Wonder Roach may rip an entail or two from them does give me a giggle here and there.

Turning to Faith I cracked a smile.

"Aren't we just having to much fun? By the way i plan to sue you next week for breach of contract. Hope you don't mind."

Nice. Let's add some wannabe intimidation tactics to this excitin' day.

I raise an eyebrow at her. "I never signed any contract with you, Lilah." I smile snidely. "We had a verbal agreement."

I can split hairs with the best of 'em, baby.

I shook my head and smiled.

"Oh Faithy my dear, you see by taking those little bonus checks you in effect signed a contract. And verbal contracts with money exchanged...let's just say you're in a world of hurting."

I love when I am the one on top.

"I wouldn't recommend trying anything with my Slayer, Miss Morgan. It'd be a terrible shame if an accident were to befall you. An accident that my colleague Mister Gunn and I made certain was to strike while you were in your apartment, alone."

"Yes, children, please stop bickering." Okay, whatever it was at the far end of the sewer, it had Lilah spooked. Now that was something I never thought I'd see. Better call Ripley's. We were just under the exit, but the thing moved too fast and was on us in a matter of seconds. I had to squint to really believe it, "Mom?"

"My baby girl, why are you here?" "Mom, people are dying, I have to help..." "No, you don't, love. The world won't crumble and fall away like you dreamed when you were a little girl. The world is full of people, like him, like her," My mother nodded to Faith, the Vampire Slayer. "She is everything you'll never be, my sweet girl. She is stronger than you'll ever be. You can tell by her eyes." I glance back and look at the Slayer, everything I'd hoped I'd one day be, her eyes big like saucers. I could see her lips moving, but no words were coming out. "You were always weak, do you remember what you did to her?"

"Stop it!" I screamed.

Doesn't she look like her?" I looked to Faith again, and sure enough her face had ( ... )

I materialize within the group, hands shoved into my pockets. I stand there in a deceptively relaxed stance, next to Faith. It's not like I haven't been paying attention, kids. I'm just not that good in negotiations. I remember a certain time very vividly where the Slayer at my side was on the other end of one. But the rest of this stuff I'm fine at.

"Oz?" I say, surprised. I dunno why though. He's always showin' up at just the right time.

And it's such a relief to have someone next to me besides Lilah. Let me tell ya.

Oh isn't this wonderful. The party keeps getting bigger and the cast of good guys is increasing. But the fact that there's Mr Nightmare on Elm Street ahead and a freaking out wannabe of a Slayer beside me doesn't make me have the warm fuzzies.

I aimed my gun and ripped off a round into the thing ahead. Not like anyone else was doing anything to help out here. Shaking my head as I changed clips at the others in this rag-tag collection.

"Okay, now let's get this straight when the bad guys appear we kill them. Does everyone understand this concept now?"

Looking at all of their grinning faces looking back at me.

"Okay let me reclarify, if the bad guy is a demon kill. Human like me, you shower with praise and say damn good job Boss."

I nod to Faith. "Faith." Then, I hear Lilah. Now normally, I don't comment, but I do glance Lilah's way at that. I give her an 'oh please' look, then glance to Faith. "You want to feild that one?" I ask, then turn back to the task at hand. Suppose I should shift soon, and I take a few steps in front of Faith, shifting as I go. It's a fluid transformation, my clothes melting into furr, and by the time I'm four feet away, I'm the werewolf.
