Yeah... yesterday went well for the most part. Justin came over we went to family video. Rented Bowling For Columbine. We watched a movie that Donkey let me borrow... Elephant. I'd already seen it but I didn't know as much about the Columbine shootings the first time I saw it. I didn't like the ending. I think it was pretty crappy but I liked ( Read more... )

Out of curiosity, why didn't you like the ending of Elephant? I rather like movies that don't end with someone being saved and life goes on all peachie. Requiem For A Dream is another example. It's more true to life...rather predictible and formulaic, as most movies are.

I wandered here from avoidants, btw.

It isn't that I wanted it to be a happy ending really... its just that I've been into the details of Columbine and I was told that that is what Elephant is supposed to be based off of... I just didn't really like it all that much. It was slow and pretty... not interesting. Blah... I liked it in a sense but mainly I didn't.

I kinda think that was the point. They wanted to show that a day in which a school shooting takes place is really no different than any other day. There is no suspense music, no harrowing escapes, no real warning of the impending doom at all.

Eh, I'll stop bugging you now. Just a random curiousity, I supposed.
