Wolfram and Hart. It had been the place that not only I, but all of them had fought against for the past four years or more. They'd been the cause of so much pain in all of our lives and more. They control half of the evil in this world and represented the other half. We on the other hand had been the ones to fight the against that evil and for ( Read more... )

The whole day just dragged. Maybe I just had too much in my mind as of late. There were a lot of new things there that weren't there before... like the whole werewolf thing and how to go about explaining that to Jill. She needed to know sooner or later, and I was kinda hoping it would be later. If I told her now, she would probably freak- never let me near Amanda. Then again maybe she'd be okay with all of it. But I didn't know for sure, and I didn't think I was ready to put that to the test... not just yet anyway ( ... )

I think I sat there for another fifteen minutes or so just drumming my fingers on the desk. There really had to be something I needed to be doing that I wasn't. Call someone, set up a meeting, kill one of our most evil clients. You know, the things you do on a regular day at the office ( ... )

For a moment I almost thought someone else had picked up his direct line. But it was only for a moment. It was nice hearing his voice, it sort of gave me butterflies... it had been a long while since I had felt anything remotely close to that.

"Hi! Yeah, I called earlier but you weren't in yet, so I just left a message with Harmony. How are things? Work keeping you busy?" I asked.

How could I ask something like that? Of course work was keeping him busy. He was the C.E.O of a huge, well known law firm in Los Angeles, how could he not be busy? Every time I saw him, he always had something on his mind- almost as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I guess... that's how things are when you're a hero. It was even a wonder how he made time to see me, or have lunch with me. But I was looking forward to seeing him, puppet or no puppet.

"Of course you're busy, you're always busy..."

She rambled a bit and I laughed a bit into the phone. Was I busy? Well.. probably not as much as I should've been, but there's not exactly anyone here to check up on me is there? Well, there's Eve but she's not showing her face around here for a long time - or at least she'd better not.

"I'm-well, not really all that busy to tell you the truth." What was I? Bored maybe.

I sat there for a second wondering if now would be a good time to ask her out for lunch or something - one where I wasn't made out of felt. We would eat, talk, laugh. You know, be normal for a change.

"So I was thinking. If you're not busy with your classes then you might like to meet me somewhere for lunch - or dinner if that works best for you."
