Even if you have really bad cat allergies, they may very well go away after a few weeks if you get a cat. It happened to me when I got my first cat, much to my amazement. And it's a good thing, too, cuz by the time those few weeks were over, I was quite attached to my kitty (who is now almost 3 and a half years old).
