Oh jesus. I just watched Bush's speech to the nation. He could not possibly have sounded any less prepared or articulate. He used typical second grade defenses to people's personal attacks against his judgement. He only asked questions from predetermined reporters and ignored follow-up questions. Could he have shown his weaknesses any more? God. I ( Read more... )

Bush is a moron, but I'm sorry to say that I think Kerry and his recycled dems are too. Between the two I'd still pick Bush - I actually feel sorry for America.

Well of course he can't admit he was wrong, not now, with this whole trial going on and elections looming, it'll blow his campaign and second term to hell.

I think he's done a pretty good job of screwing up is second term campaign.

Voting has now become "lesser of the two evils". It's sad.

I'm actually relieved that I'm not 18 and can't vote. I don't know who I'd vote for. They are both idiots.

Yeah, that's really stupid to advertise them. And the commercials are becoming longer because they have to list all of the side effects... I hope I don't get sick 'cause sometimes the side effects are worse than what you're taking the drug for - but they try to tone it down by saying some bullshit thing like the side effects are rare. Right.

Exactly. In exchange for temporary heartburn relief, I could die of liver failure. It's so stupid.

Personally, I missed it, but I'm going to be sure to look for a transcript of it. (It won't be the same, though. :/ I can never look at Dubya without thinking of Curious Geroge. Specifically, I think of Dubya's space plan with this little Curious George in a spacesuit path and I stuck on my monitor..) It is pretty sad that voting is down to the lesser of two evils in this country, especially when the lesser evil is Bush. Have you seen his campaign ads? Ugh.
I do, though, think it's unfair that some things are completely blamed on Bush. Personally, I think the Clinton administration did get clueoffs on certain things, and just chose not to act on them. I can't say that I really liked either all that much, though..

In an attempt to relieve oneself of a certain medical malady, the person is subject to an onslaught of side effects that may or may not occur. Most of the time they DON'T occur, but legally they are obligated to put it on there.

They advertise prescription drugs on television because most people who would end up needing or buying the drugs already know they have the condition. If you're having trouble getting it up, you pretty much know you have erectile dysfunction. And, hey, look, a commercial for viagra. Maybe you should ask your doctor about that drug in order to correct your penis problems.

Yes I am aware of side effects. Dry mouth, nausea, drowsiness, all fine. But things like kidney failure, liver failure, and death? Sure it's a rare occurrence but I wouldn't want it to be my occurrence. My problem is not that they list the side effects. I know you legally have to. My issue is that the dangerous side effects exist in the first place. And I swear I saw "depression" listed as a side effect of an anti-depressant. Which annoy me anyway.

Maybe you should talk to your doctor about your penis problems and see what he says. Therefore, if doctors were doing their jobs, then the commercials wouldn't be necessary. I'm specifically talking about ads for conditions like depression and social anxiety disorder because they give you symptoms that a LOT of people have, but that don't necessarily mean you are have the condition, etc. People are so eager to jump on the mental health bandwagon...

Yes. But many ads also, in addition to listing symptoms that are associated with the condition, add in that pleasant mind controlling voice that says "If you feel you have any of these symptoms then talk to you doctor about -insert strange drug name here.- Like the acid reflux disease commercials. Why there are so many acid reflux drugs and commercials, the world may never know.

Generally, a lot of the side effects of drugs such as renal kidney failure and heart attack are associated with people who have taken the drug and also have had a history of said symptom/side effect. If your grandmother went into cardiac arrest, and you take the drug, it ups your chance of going into cardiac arrest. Or if you yourself have had a heart attack and take the drug and so on and so forth.
