Narrowly missed an argument with a church friend about Harry Potter and how it's witchcraft. I like christians, and I like being a christian *most of the time*, but times like this make me wonder if we've sniffed a little too much bible glue.

bwuh?, church, fandom, book-it

I remember finding the church website of a pastor who believes that all fiction is satanic because it is, by its very nature, telling lies. In particular, I remember him railing against a Christian children's book.

The best part? He apparently has kids of his own. Poor, poor kids.

Maybe he also believes very strongly in "spare the rod, spoil the child" - that would make their childhood just gleeful and really give them the fodder they need to grow up to be abortion-clinic bombers.

Their dad would be so proud. Not sure how proud their Dad would be though.

Nothing creates happy, healthy adults quite like a childhood of joyless tyranny in the name of Jesus! Where can I buy this guy's parenting book?
