this is probably off-tangent, but that reminds me of a derek walcott poem, "endings" -- things do not explode, they fail, they fade -- it's an awesome poem, and i hope you're alright.

that's not too far off tangent-- just the read "endings" and they do sound quite similar.

i have an aborted attempt at a mammoth e-mail replying to your comments about the revolutions article. i was writing and thinking and writing, and thought it would be much easier to discuss in person. but alas, you are in canada now! is it alright if i send you the quarter-aborted e-mail? it's sitting in my drafts box and looks uncomfortable.
