That may be true about Heremias in comparison to Babel....but at least Babel's producer's make their film available to anyone interested to view them. I've never seen Heremias, Ebolusyon, or Batang Westside...and not for lack of trying. I've scoured the net, philippine dvd websites, emailed Diaz, begged for a VHS dub and offered to pay well...just to see one of these so-called gems... no luck. I guess it's my fault I live in San Francisco, and not in Manila. Hopefully Diaz's producer's will wake up one day and realize no one but themselves will distribute Diaz's films, and finally start pressing DVD's for the rest of us hungry for good cinema. Until then, I'll just withold judgement about how great his films are until I see one.

that's nice that you've tried, and i'm sorry to hear you've had no luck. diaz does want dvds released and as many people to see as possible to see the works, but there have been a few complications. here is the situation, as far as i know it ( ... )
