A friend has started a meme, i like the idea...

Character Name: William Bayler
Character's Title: Knight of House Balor of the Order of the Guardians of the Gates
Game System: Changeling: The Dreaming
When Played: umm 1996-2001
Character Type: Sidhe
Where the character's name came from: I adapted the Balor to Bayler as part of a language slide. William just because it sounds british
The coolest thing about the character: He was a complete and utter bastard. For the first half of his existance, he had almost no redeeming qualities. He sewed chaos, anger and mistrust where ever he was, yet was still respected (if disliked)enough for people to seek him out.
Thing that brought him/her "to life":That was definately the moment he fell in love with a Fiona Sidhe named Sophia. His attempt to corrupt her and drag her over to the unseelie, or use her and discard her, resulted in such a deep change in him that he was drawn to her purity and embraced it, even though it burnt through his self hatred and misanthropy.

Character Name: Leptus
Character's Title: Wyldrunner
Game System: mixed/adapted system of Runemaster, AD&D plus home rules
When Played: 1996-1998
Character Type: Half Elf Fighter
Where the character's name came from: A scrabble bag
The coolest thing about the character: He was always ready for a fight, but never struck the first blow. Combined that with a deep shyness and absolute loyalty to his friends.
Thing that brought him/her "to life": Was also his death. It was a very emotional session played under a brilliant GM, Leptus literally went on a suicide run to kill a great mutant beast that had beaten the crap out of the enormous party (20+ PC's and 30+ NPC's all over 12th level). Before he left, he gave out all his most prized posessions to all his friends, things like his favourite sword(he had 2), his armour, the Arrow that had killed 3 seperate Black Dragons (and it wasnt even magical) and so on. The he snuck out after a tearful goodbye to the one who would have been his wife, and killed it. The most searing moment in my mind was the GM playing one of the NPC's who was reading out a list of the dead who had died in the past dozen sessions (we had just finished a huge war against a demi-god). He read through each name and then paused, the character pointed off to the distance, there was a huge explosion, then called out Leptus. It was great.

Character Name: Angus MacDuff
Character's Title:The Giant
Game System: 7th Sea
When Played: 2003-2004
Character Type: Highlander
Where the character's name came from: MacDuff sounded good and Angus because it was common
The coolest thing about the character: His Hammer. In a swashbuckling game, he was the 7ft highlander with a huge hammer. It was such a slant from the normal swashbuckling.
Thing that brought him/her "to life": Angus was always the voice of reason/failure in the group. He would always point out why things wouldnt work and why everyone would be in trouble. Then he would lead the way because he wouldnt let his friends down.

Character Name: William Bayler
Character's Title: Ventrue Primogen
Game System: Vampire LARP
When Played: a few years ago
Character Type: Ventrue Ancillae
Where the character's name came from: I liked it from a previous character so i kept it.
The coolest thing about the character: His ability to survive. Literally, he always had people plotting to kill him, but whenever it came time for them to kill him/set him up/lay the blame. He was never there. It frustrated so many characters over the years how no matter what they did, he never took the blame or got punished really.
Thing that brought him/her "to life": Was the first canberra game. Arriving with Prince Kelly and just ripping strips off characters verbally, then cutting and breaking deals non-stop all night. Absolutely brilliant.

Character Name: Corran Bell
Character's Title: Admiral
Game System: Star Wars d20
When Played: cant remember what year
Character Type: Correllian Human Smuggler (Scoundral)
Where the character's name came from: It sounded good?
The coolest thing about the character: He would come up with the most outlandish plans and just make them work. Combined with a level of Arrogance and a complete and total self confidence. He was never shammed.
Thing that brought him/her "to life": We'd raided a ancient ships graveyard where there had been a capital ship battle millenia ago. Inside one of the Hulls, we found 200 ingots of pure Quadranium. Now, 4 ingots was enough to alloy down to make the hull for a star destroyer. Basically, this was an unimaginable fortune, sitting in his cargo hold. While the jedi in the group were exploring a Sith temple later, he was dancing naked in the hold, molesting the quadranium, until some dark sith force literally portaled him into the middle of the fight. So there is a naked scoundral (who still had his gun) blasting away at sith guards, utterly unconcerned about his nudness.

Character Name: Silver
Character's Title: title? You dont need to know that.
Game System: Shadowrun
When Played: years ago
Character Type: Elf Street Sam/Face
Where the character's name came from: the colour of her hair
The coolest thing about the character: Vanity. Even in the most scary run, she'd always want to look her best. Combine that with a heart of pure ice
Thing that brought him/her "to life": Her Arguements with Chronos and Jack Flash about wether or not to kill Panther (our Shaman) for using Mind Probe on us.
