The first weekend I moved to Sydney (back in good ol' March), I went to the Mardi Gras. I can't describe the atmosphere - everything was crazy and over-the-top - very, very out there. The only low light was when someone was almost crushed in there crowd near us. Both me and my friend left at the end of the night saying "I wish I was gay!", hahah

i wish i was there.

nyc has a gay pride parade every year and i never go. but i fucking want to so bad just so i can provide images similar to these. of course, i'd like to go to mardi gras one day as well, the real one in new orleans, but hell that place was flooded out not too long ago. i went to mardi gras in vermont, which was in february, which means it was about 20 degrees F, and it was boring as hell.
