I think sometimes just because the one(s) that we want to care don't seem to care, doesn't necessarily mean that "everyone actually doesn't care". Often, we overlook the things that we take for granted. All of us are guilty of it at some point, some more than others. ;)
Starting in a new town with the same self leads to the same outcomes / problems. It's like restarting a hard level on a computer game, but using the same strategy.
To quote the late great Michael Jackson, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror." To quote the also late great Ghandi, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
