I saw Brokeback Mountain last night! And you should all see it, and love it! And cry tears of joy and tears of sadness~

In other news: I have discovered the amazingness of buying used books over the internet. I have never stretched $25 so far in my lifetime o.o

I thought that Rainbow Boys and all the subsequent books were kind of...well...monotonous and juvenile, to tell you the truth. I know a shitload of gay people, and none of them act even remotely like the characters in the book. One of my close friends, who read it, hated it because the thought the entire plot premise was ridiculous.

Dream Boy was a good book, though, in my opinion. I like the way it was written.

Haha, yeah. I know Rainbow Boys and the like aren’t the most eloquently written of books, and the characters could've been done better justice. But, I think they were made that way to convey a wider range of understanding towards the situations, 'cause things like that do occasionally happen. And they're plenty of people who I know who've been through different variations and degrees of some of the things that are touched in those books. But basically? They are pretty corny. :D

Dream Boy was written very well. I think, for me, it was one of those stories you need time to absorb before you can really get it. It was one of those stories that’s hard to grasp when you first start, if that makes any sense.
