"Why are you here?"

She was in his room again, sitting on his bed again, looking as nonchanant as ever. He was furious; who was she? What the hell did she want?

"Beause," she said slowly, "no one comes here."

"This is my room! Who are you?"

She slid off the bed gracefully and placed herself in front of him, hand outstretched for a handshake.

"Pelai Wisteria," she said, smiling. "And you?"

"Doom," he growled, ignoring her hand and pushing past her, placing himself between her and his room. "Now get out."

"I can't."

"Yes, actually, you can."

"Nope?"

Damn, but she was irritating! He wanted nothing more than to grab her and push her out the door, but touching people wasn't something Calligra did, ever. They didn't react well.

"And why can't you?" he asked, trying to keep calm. She shrugged and walked to his desk, which shared a wall with the door and thus wasn't blocked by his self-made wall. Hopping up, she sat on its edge, legs dangling down and swinging innocently.

"If I leave here," she said, a serious tone to her jovial voice, "then they'll find me!"

Calligra was not in the mood for games.

"Who?"

She shrugged and looked around.

"You have a nice room."

"No! Don't change the subject! Who?"

"Father."

"Who's your father?"

"No one important?"

The lie was obvious in her voice, and her words sounded as if they were questions instead of statements.

"Girl, who is your father?"

"Head of the Force?"

And now Calligra broke his rule of not touching people. Grabbing her by the shoulders in a less-than-gentle manner, he walked her to the door.

"Out! No daughter of the head of the Force is going to stay in my room!"

She was Nira all over again, and that was not allowed. No. No more Niras. One had been plenty. But the girl was not leaving that quickly or that easily; shrugging fiercly and forcing him to let go, she glared at Calligra with firey green eyes.

"If I'm here," she snarled, "no one can find me."

"If they find you here, they'll kill me. And I don't even know you!"

"I can stop them from ever touching you."

"As if."

She pulled a card from her pocket.

"See this? This overrides everything. I put this in a slot, in a door, and whatever I want is mine. Everything opens."

"So?"

"I can keep you from ever being caught. I can give you total freedom."

"But only if I let you stay here."

"You help me, I help you. It's a practical idea, you have to admit."

Calligra growled and furrowed his brow, but did not try to move her anymore. She had a point-- it was practical.
