Ashley and I are headed to the big LV this morning. Leaving here at 7:30am, arriving in Vegas at 1pm. I'm still not excited. My lack of enthusiasm is frightening. I just spent $350 at REI. Bought a sweet solo hiking tent (weighing in at a mere 3lbs 5oz), which I think will cut the better part of five pounds off my shoulders next week. I've been at my new job for about a month now. I like it. Its great to be working outside again, to feel the sun once more. The work itself is kinda fun, walking around in hip-waders (like last summer), looking for frog eggs. The money situation's a bit tight right now, I'm waiting to get my first full 80 hour paycheck. not gonna make it up this weekend. leaving tomorrow at 7am, getting back sometime between saturday and monday. hows that for a first fucking week? not happy.

Last thursday was my final day working at the Willamette Humane Society. While I'll miss the people and the feeling of being an important part of an amazing team that does incredible things every day, I can't say that I'm sad to be leaving. Hahahaha. I had a VERY informal interview this morning for that position. And they just gave me the informal job offer. All I need to do now is wait for the PR lady to give me a call either this afternoon or monday morning. Hot damn, a new job.
